| UK organisatie 9Lives met Belgisch team |

 9Lives is een organisatie uit Groot-Brittanië dat in 2004 onstond door  Anthony 'm4hon' Mahon. Sinds enkele weken heeft de organisatie ook een Belgisch Counterstrike 1.6 team in hun rangen onder leiding van  Alex 'Boomtek' Nomans. Ook is er recent een nieuw UK team aangesteld in de organisatie. Het team zal waarschijnlijk aanwezig zijn op volgende Frag-O-Matic in Februari.

Statement van Alex 'Boomtek' Nomans:
| Ik werd gevraagd een BE team te maken voor 9lives. Na een paar maanden proberen met verschillende line-ups en mix teams hebben we nu een stabiel team om zo snel mogelijk wat lans te doen. Sinds een paar weken hebben we ook een manager Toby 'tQbes' Prior die ons hopelijk wat sponsors kan regelen. We zijn wel nog op zoek naar mensen om ons management uit te breiden in ons BE team. Het team bestaat nu uit 5 vrienden die al jaren samen spelen en ook goed bevriend zijn in het echte leven. De nodige teamplay halen we uit de vriendschap en de ingame tactics werken we meestal samen uit. We kijken samen naar hltv matchen en zoeken naar bestaande tactics en maken onze variaties. Chico heeft al zeker 6jaar ervaring in cs, Amnezia heeft een sterk tactisch inzicht en komt altijd snel op ideeën om een spel aan te passen aan de tegenstander. Zelf speel ik ook al ongeveer 7 kaar en heb ik ervaring opgedaan in Engeland bij teams als uninspired en team-insomnia, heb met hun enkele grote lans gedaan en verder hebben we illuxn die net terug is na een jaar inactivity. We zijn nu bezig met onze 5e laatste man aan het zoeken voor het team want Lilou is al even inactive. |

| ESL Pro Series Benelux: Counter-Strike |

In het Counter-Strike 1.6 tornooi zullen net als vorige seizoen, de acht beste teams van de Benelux het zeven weken tegen elkaar opnemen voor een prijzenpot van 2300 euro. De beste vier gaan door naar de lanfinale, die in Januari zal doorgaan. De plaats is nog niet vrijgegeven.
De start van het tweede seizoen van de ESL Pro Series heeft voor enkele Nederlandse teams ernstige gevolgen. Zo is Team EDiT gestopt met hun Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Het team ging uit elkaar naar meerdere mislukkingen en het gebrek aan motivatie. EDiT wordt in de EPS vervangen door het Belgisch team oneway. Naast Team EDiT, houdt ook het management van DCC-Gaming het na vier jaar voor bekeken. Hun voormalig team (ex-CNO) gaat voorlopig verder onder de naam "Left for Dead".

| Championship Gaming Series is dead |

DirecTV's esports league that CS fans love to hate has ceased operations according to Cadred.org who broke the news.
After just two seasons, the Championship Gaming Series has today announced its closure. The statement made it clear that the current financial climate was the reason behind CGS's disbanding: "...the economics just didn't add up for us at this time."
Calling itself "an idea that came too soon," the CGS staff re-assured the community that all the parties involved will continue to push forward the realm of video games: "Sky, STAR and DIRECTV continue to be committed to the video games sector, which is an important part of many of our customers' lives and a great source of entertainment."
The self-proclaimed world's first truly professional video gaming league, CGS caused an oceanic split between America and Europe by picking a series of non-traditional esports titles. Games included the already controversial CS:Source and World of Warcraft. Many fans will be glad to see the back of the Western hemisphere's first TV league.
The future of teams like 3D and compLexity are still open to speculation at this time.

| New French team - emL & aAa lose players |

This year has not been good for emuLate so far with unsatisfying results and also giving away the spot of the best team in France to eSport-eu by not being able to qualify for the World Cyber Games. Mickael "mSx" Cassisi therefore decided to leave emuLate, with Gaetan "SHq" Varlotta and Kyle "noth1ng" Saadi leaving aAa to form a new team.
These three players decided to create their own team, taking in the two local players Yannick "POMy" Analoro and Benoit "pressy" Garcia. The team could attend DreamHack or one of the KODE5 Qualifiers to qualify for the KODE5 Global Final next year, but they will not be able to jump in running competitions such as the Extreme Masters.
This also means emuLate will need to announce a new player as well as aAa having to get two new players as they were shocked from the departure. This leaves the teams with the following rosters:

| Half-Life turns 10 today |

Gordon Freeman and the Half-Life franchise turned 10-years-old today, with Valve throwing a bargain of a birthday bash for the little tyke.
10 years after the release of Half-Life the franchise is still going strong, so strong in fact Valve can afford to practically give the game away.
The game was released ten years ago today, in 1998, so Valve decided to re-price the game on Steam at just 98 cents. The homage doesn't hold up well across continental boundaries however, costing just 80 euro-cents here on the other side of the pond.
The game is available for this low, low price for a limited time only, so if you haven't played the game yet, now would probably be a good time to dip into that penny dish. The offer ends 09:01 am CET on November 22nd.
The question now is in 2014 do we get Half-Life 2 for 14 cents?
